I have finished my course,
I have kept the faith.
Henceforth there is laid up,
for me a crown of righteousness,
which the Lord, the righteous judge,
shall give me at that day,
and not to me only,
but unto all them also that love His appearing.
II Timothy 4:7-8
We have had the good fortune to know Loretta for about 4 years but she has influenced our life in many positive ways. She was the epitome of a person that was in service to others.... Whenever we met Henry at a club function or a show and he was without Loretta he would always say she was at work! Work for Loretta was serving people in a hospital as an RN. Service was part of her being. I could tell she loved her family by the things she would talk about and how the conversation usually led back to her family. I could tell what kind of person she was by the email she sent me.... she was always proper and thoughtful and had a tremendous sense of humor! I enjoyed helping her 'learn computer'. I knew that when she called me with a computer problem that it was going to be fun gui
ding her to the solution. She was always concerned about others when we were at car functions, the time she knew Larry was having trouble with the heat in Fredericksburg. The times when I would stumble because of my ankle and if she was near she would always be concerned with my welfare.... The time at Clifton a few years ago when someone was having trouble with the heat she rushed to the persons side and helped till the medics got there. She was always looking out for others in ways they never knew about. She was so proud of her two daughters.... she glowed whenever they were together at functions with us.
Loretta and Henry have a relationship like Linda and I....their love for one another is conspicuous and enduring. Whenever Loretta wasn't with Henry at car functions he always looked and acted like something was missing.... and it was! They acted like young kids.... holding hands when they were together....doting on each other....True Love! I think we all need to take the time to hug our mates more....hold hands more often....tell them we love them more....Chuck & Linda Shotwell
